How To Apply Hard Gel

Step By Steps – Natural Nail Overlay

    1. Always start with clean, dry sanitised nails.
    2. Using a Lecenté prep tool, in circular motions, lift and remove any cuticle from the nail plate. Ensure that all cuticle is removed from the nail plate to help prevent any lifting of the product. Nip any excess or stubborn cuticle if necessary.
    3. File the nails to the desired length and shape and then lightly buff the surface of the nail using a 240-grit file to remove the shine only.
    4. Remove all dust, dirt and debris from the surface of the nails using a manicure brush. If any dust or debris is left on the nail this will show up in the finished application.
    5. Cleanse and dehydrate the nails thoroughly with Lecenté Prep and Dehydrate.
    6. Apply a small amount of universal primer, leaving a free margin and avoiding any skin contact and allow to dry to a chalky finish. Too much primer will create the opposite of desired adhesion.
    7. First, using your Hard Builder Gel, create a thin, ‘sticky layer’ onto the entire natural nail first and cure on the 90sec low heat mode on the Lecenté Lamp. (If using a strong pigmented shade always apply a clear as the first layer.)
    8. Apply another thin layer, this will become your ‘slip layer’, DO NOT CURE. Starting at the cuticle zone, hold the brush at a 20-degree angle and use swirling movements to slowly stretch the Gel over the nail. Concentrate on establishing the outside perimeters first, as this stops the gel from oozing onto the skin. *When teasing the gel, use only the very tip, making contact with the surface of the gel on the nail and then teasing gently into the desired place.
    9. Build the correct structure for the nail shape and length, or where this is not possible, cure on the 90sec low heat mode on the Lecenté Lamp and repeat steps 7 & 8.*You can enhance your apex by turning the hand/nails upside down and allowing gravity to pull the excess gel into the highest point of the Apex.
    10. Refine and smooth the nail into desired finish and shape using a Lecenté file and sanding
block. Once desired finish has been achieved, dust and cleanse the nail using a Nail Pad and Lecenté Prep & Dehydrate, preparing for application of your chosen Gel Polish finish. If the client requires a clear finish simply apply Lecenté Top Coat, and cure for 30 seconds. (alternatively see Gel Polish Application)
    11. After your Top Coat Application, using a nail pad, thoroughly wipe the entire nail with Lecenté Finishing Wipe before applying Nail & Skin Conditioning Oil and giving the client essential Aftercare advice.
