Retail Ideas for Your Nail & Beauty Business.

Creating a Memorable Experience for Your Customers

As a nail and beauty business owner, you want your customers to have a memorable experience every time they visit your salon. With so many competitors in the market, it’s important to stand out and offer something unique, and when it comes to running a retail area in your business, one of the key aspects of success is keeping your customers happy and satisfied. One of the best ways to do this is by offering high-quality retail products that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. In this blog, I will discuss some effective ways to offer our Lecenté retail items to your clients that will allow them to take a little bit of your salon experience home but also help you increase your sales.

  1. Offer a customised, prescriptive service – Providing customised services according to the client’s needs is a great way to show that you care about their individual needs. Moreover, it also helps to build a strong relationship between you and your customers. This is the ultimate foundation to success within your business and enables you to become a trusted source of advice and recommendations when suggesting new treatments or retail items.

  1. Use High-Quality Products – Fortunately for you as a Lecenté user, you have invested in a high-quality trusted brand that also provides you with unrivalled support and advice to succeed in your business. We all know using high-quality products is essential to ensure that your customers receive the best possible service. Customers appreciate quality products and will be more likely to return to your salon if they know that you use only the best.

  1. Provide Retail Versions of your salon products – It’s harder, and some may think ‘scary’ to sell a product to a client who has not tried the product before! Should you have established a trusting and strong relationship with a client, they will purchase whatever you recommend providing your recommendation is honest, justified and will provide great benefit to the client. However, retailing anything and everything comes with confidence, so start out retailing your ‘Hero products’ only. These products are your ride or die, products you use within your service and products you have told them all about whilst using it. It will then become an effortless sale at checkout, “Would you like to take a bottle of my cuticle oil home with you today?”

  1. Successful Retail Math – Combining points one, two and three will result in a successful and effortless up sale of your retail items. Very few industry professionals enjoy a hard sell, with many admitting not retailing products as it makes them uncomfortable. But advising your client to walk away with simply a cuticle oil pen for example will increase your service profit by £2.83 with no extra time needed.

If we do some quick math based on 5 clients a day X 3 days of the week = That’s an extra £169.80 PROFIT A MONTH!

This is not a hard sell. It is in your client’s best interest to oil their nails 2-3 times a day to increase the longevity of their service. To condition and improve the nail’s natural health, to prevent lifting and curling of the natural nail (especially in the winter months) and as I always say, take a little bit of luxury home with them!

All of the Lecenté Christmas Scented Oils are available in Salon Size 30ml (£15.99RRP) and a limited-edition pen (£7.99RRP). These beautifully festive scented oils contain deeply moisturising, Vitamin E enriched, Jojoba oil known for its antioxidant and penetrative properties. A perfect, festive, accompaniment to all of your nail services.

  1. Display Products Effectively – It goes without saying, that the way you display your products can make a huge difference in whether or not your customers make a purchase. Make sure that your products are displayed in an organised and attractive manner. Use eye-catching displays and signage to draw attention to your products and make them stand out. GET CREATIVE! If you have a checkout area of your business, place the smaller, minimal-cost items in this area as they will easily be added to the final bill in the blink of an eye!

  1. Host Events – Hosting events such as new service/product launches, or beauty/salon talks is a great way to engage with your clients (and prospective clients whom they bring as a plus one) – and create a community buzz around your business. These are great as seasonal events, everyone loves a glass of fizz, a nibble of a mince pie and a couple of hours out of the house! It will provide yet another shopping opportunity, especially at a gift-giving time of the year!

I hope this has helped you create ideas for a memorable experience for your customers. By implementing these retail ideas, you can provide your customers with an exceptional experience that will keep them coming back to your salon and an effortless increase in your profit with no extra time or commitment needed!
